How Platelet Rich Plasma with Laser Therapy Help Reverse Hair Loss?

However, the main topic of the show is to show a cure being researched at the University of Pennsylvania which identified the gene responsible for baldness.

Now undergoing clinical trials, the research aims to develop a gene therapy in the next two years to man’s common genetic problem – baldness. The name of the cure in study – Platelet Rich Plasma with Laser Therapy.

Demonstrating to the audience of this wonderful under-the-study treatment, we had Jessica, a woman in the video, as the subject who suffers from potentially a female pattern baldness.

In the same scenario, we also see Neil Sadick, M.D., who was the attending dermatologist to Jessica with regards to her hair condition.

When asked on how long has she observed her losing her hair, Jessica mentioned about noticing it 5 to 6 years ago, which started out simply as a thinning of her hair which then became patches which lets her see her scalp underneath her remaining layers of hair.

The main dilemma to Jessica, as much as to people who lose their hair in general, is by becoming self-aware to her condition.

With Neil Sadick, M.D., now as the focus of the video, there we see him presenting Jessica a treatment method to Hair Loss which involves the use of her blood referred to as the Platelet Rich Plasma with Laser Therapy. The method is simple: using the blood as extracted from Jessica in addition to the growth compound mixed with it, the activated growth factor produced with the procedure will be injected to her scalp in order to stimulate the scalp for hair growth.

Followed by the laser therapy, which is basically a low-energy light emitting diode red light, Jessica has to undergo the therapy at least once a week for 8 weeks.

Getting back to the doctors, which as basically the hosts of the show, there we see Neil Sadick, M.D., in an interview explaining about her pioneering treatment to Hair Loss.

The key to his procedure, according to himself, is the fact that it slows down the hair loss while also stimulating the scalp thereby promoting hair growth – an explanation brought about by the evidence seen at the latter part of the video with Jessica as the subject.
